Heating oil tank replacement

New tanks from leading brands

Heating oil tank replacement

A leaking or ageing tank is not something to put off. Split seams, corroded fittings and degraded bases can lead to costly spills, insurance headaches and environmental damage. We replace domestic and light-commercial heating oil tanks across Leinster, the Midlands and surrounding areas with new bunded or single skin OFTEC-recognised units.

We supply Kingspan and Carbery tanks only — the two highest-quality manufacturers on the Irish market. Our team handles the full job: disconnecting the old tank, positioning and levelling the new one, reconnecting fill and feed lines, fitting a suitable base or bund, and disposing of the old tank and any waste oil under the proper waste regulations.

Before we quote, we look at your current setup, burner type, fuel and space. That way the replacement tank is the right capacity, the right shape and the right specification for your home or business.

  • Bunded (double-skin) and single-skin tanks
  • Horizontal and vertical models
  • Capacity from 900 litres to 2,500 litres
  • Base, support and bund repairs if needed
  • Old tank uplift and recycling included

Safe uplift and clean disposal

Heating oil tank removal

If you have switched to heat pumps, solid fuel, gas or simply no longer need oil heating, a disused tank left in the garden or yard becomes a liability. It traps residual fuel, sludge and vapour, and can corrode through over time.

Our removal service is end-to-end. We start by emptying the tank of any remaining fuel, then clean it and degas it so it is safe to handle. We then lift the tank using the right equipment for the size and access, remove all associated pipework if requested, and take the tank away for recycling or licensed disposal.

Where access is tight — beside a house, down a narrow lane or in a farmyard — we plan the lift in advance so the job is done in one visit with minimal disruption.

  • Fuel removal and site cleaning
  • Degassing and vapour-safe handling
  • Crane or manual lift depending on access
  • Pipework and base removal available
  • Waste transfer documentation supplied
Contaminated fuel draining

Water, sludge and bacteria removed

Contaminated fuel draining

Water gets into tanks through condensation, ill-fitting lids or delivery issues. Once inside, it feeds microbial growth and rust, clogging filters and damaging your boiler. If your oil looks cloudy, your boiler keeps cutting out or your filter is full of sludge, the fuel needs to be drained and the tank cleaned.

We pump out the contaminated fuel and filter it where recoverable. Severely contaminated oil and sludge is removed and disposed of as controlled waste. We then inspect the tank, clean the base and fittings, and advise on whether the tank can be refilled safely or whether replacement is the better long-term option.

This service applies to kerosene, gasoil and HVO-derived heating fuels stored in plastic or steel tanks.

  • Water and sludge removal
  • Fuel filtration where possible
  • Tank base and fitting inspection
  • Boiler-safe disposal of waste fuel
  • Advice on preventing future contamination
